Do you practice what you preach? Believe in what you sell? Know that your product is benefitting those that receive it?
I believe these are all extremely important questions to making sure that you believe in what you are doing and know that it has value to your clients.
I recently (12.13.14) married the love of my life Heather Myers. For the first time in my career I was not the vendor... I was the customer. This was a great eye opening experience to see how a positive, creative and driven creative person can be such a blessing to have at a shoot that means a lot to you (whether it is a life event you have long waited, business promotional you are spending your hard earned marketing dollars on, or your bands first music video). Having a crew that knows what they are doing, how they are accomplishing it and and what the end product should look like helps tremendously.
For my wedding I hired a 5 man/woman crew of some of the most talented professionals I have worked with and it was worth it. The day was a blast, I was not worried about their ability to capture any of the moments I wanted to remember. The images and video they created were ones we will cherish forever.
Below is the wedding video trailer:
It was a breathe of fresh air to be the customer for the first time.
Thank you to the vendors of my wedding that did such a great job putting it all together:
